New Stealth Co is working to support the changing workforce in the changing workplace. Communication technologies now make it possible to work almost anywhere, at any time, with anyone. Today’s workgroups already typically contain members from other companies or countries.
What is unchanged is our reliance on each other — but it is getting harder to keep track of how, when and where to reach each other. We use calls, voicemail, email, text messaging, IM, and now some of us are also Twittering. The generation entering the workforce is not only accustomed to this staggering pace and profusion of communication, they depend on it.
As all this electric chatter increases, it takes even more time and mental effort for collaborators and managers to find each other and ask how things are going. Virtual workgroups need more privacy and better visual representations of coworker presence, work status and feedback to maintain their pace, fully utilize their shared skills and knowledge, protect company information and have more time for actual work.
New Stealth Co's mission is to support workgroups with a breakthrough solution that makes "whole group" information easy to see and act on, but doesn't require painful changes in tools or culture. In the coming months we will tell you all about it, and ask you to use it and help us refine it.
